About Your Proprietress, Sherri Bloomer
What do we mean when we say we are a Boutique Style Business?
We are easily bored and LOVE variety! We want to provide the widest range of unique Special Occasion or Stage Costume pieces available anywhere for you. We take our job of finding the Best VERY seriously, so are constantly shopping shopping shopping to find those great pieces for you! It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. ;~D
For this reason, not all of our stock makes it to our online store or FaceBook photo albums; so, if you're looking for a specific piece of jewelry - style, color, price range - and don't see it, just email us to let us know what you're looking for - we'll send you some quick pics.
How can I see your full inventory - do you have a store I can come to?
We don't have a brick and mortar store and only sell online or at weekend shows. Check out our Online Store or Upcoming Events Schedule to see when we'll be in your area.
If you're looking for a piece of jewelry and don't see it in our online store, just email us and let us know what you're looking for. Tell us what your outfit looks like - color, style, neckline, and period, such as contemporary or vintage. Tell us what color metal and stones you're looking for as well as the shape of the piece, such as v-neck or collar or clip earring, on the ear only, or monster chandelier earring. We'll see what we can find for you.
Discounts for Quantity Purchases
Buying for a bridal party or dance troupe? Email Sherri for a quote. Discounts may be offered and dependent upon the price of the individual piece and the quantity being ordered.
Shipping
As we do not have a brick and mortar store, we sell primarily online and at dance shows across the west coast. We will ship your order within 2 days of receiving it, unless we are out of town at a show. If we're out of town when your order comes in, we'll notify you of the estimated time of shipment. We will not charge your account until we are ready to ship.
Satisfaction
Your satisfaction is important to us and we ask that you inform us within 7 days if anything is amiss with your order.
Our Guarantee
We always tell our customers we have one sure guarantee: "We are selling costume jewelry and it is guaranteed to tarnish and, yes, it will likely
lose stones." This is the simple
reality we are dealing with when playing with "special occasion" costume jewelry and to say anything else would simply be dishonest. But, keep on reading, there's MORE!
Our bigger and more important guarantee, which is fundamental down to our heart and soul, is that we will always do our best to help you and provide you the very best customer service you'll ever find when buying costume jewelry. We start by helping you select a piece of jewelry that will suit your individual needs and we provide gift boxes to protect your pieces while traveling as many of our customers are performers. We follow up by providing free stone replacement and minor repairs when we can, either at a show or if you send to us.
We know how hard it can be to find replacement stones, so we carry replacement stones and tools to most shows and can do many repairs while you wait - at no charge - if we have the right size and color stone.
If the show is too busy or we don't have the right materials, we can take your piece home with us and do the repair in our home studio. Charges for unusual stones or repairs will be assessed based on the amount of work needed and cost of materials.
For more extensive repairs - or even if you just need your grandmother's rhinestone brooch repaired -
we have a fabulous jewelry repair woman we can refer you to! Her name is Rhinestone Rosie and she is headquartered in Seattle. She's the only jeweler we have ever heard of who will solder on costume or vintage jewelry and we have used her for solder repairs for many years. You can also spot her on Antiques Roadshow if you keep a sharp eye when they're showing off some vintage jewelry! She is an invaluable resource to us sparkly addicts.
About Your Proprietress, Sherri Bloomer
Sherri
began her professional life working at Zales Jewelers, where she started as a sales person and worked her way up to store manager. She stayed with Zales for nearly ten years and
appreciated the strict
commitment Zales
held
for customer service - she was always proud that she could do whatever it took to help her customers. She also learned a great deal about jewelry design and repair during her time with Zales. After Zales, Sherri headed back to college for a degree in business management and found to her great surprise, that she had a strong aptitude and delight for biochemistry! She has worked in
bio-tech research and development, and clinical trials data management for the past 15 years.
While working on and completing her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Biochemistry, Sherri also became more serious about her hobby and great passion, bellydancing. She took classes in exercise physiology and fitness instructor training and began teaching bellydance to supplement her tutoring income. Sherri danced and taught under the stage name, Siham, and directed her troupe, Ali Baba's Bellydance Productions in Reno, NV for many years. Eventually, she moved to Seattle in 2000 with her husband, who was an elephant trainer and had taken a new position at the Woodland Park Zoo. In Seattle, Sherri cut way back on her dancing and teaching and focused on her scientific career.
Dance and all the friends Sherri had made over the years were never really far from her mind and she oddly started dreaming about her old Zales stores and about taking on a new assignment with Zales. The dreams were vivid and insistent... and got her thinking a LOT. She finally made the connection that her subconscious had beat her to - she NEEDED to create a costume jewelry business for dancers and performers! She could spend more time with her wonderful girlfriends who, by now, were spread all up and down the West Coast AND she could shop and shop and shop for fabulous crystal and rhinestone jewelry for her customers! Sweet Serendipity!!!
She could fill a need in this tiny little niche like nobody else because she had the jewelry store management training combined with the dance experience to know what dancers need, functionally, in a piece of jewelry - along with first-hand knowledge of the frustration of trying to find just that perfect piece at all the wrong stores - department stores. Now, Sherri has a great time spending her weekends with wonderful friends from all over the world, enjoying fantastic music and dance, and playing with sparklies and beautiful dancers and their costumes. Ah!! So lucky to be following her Bliss!
